GRS Footwear (George Rye & Sons Ltd) is fairly unique in that the Company can trace its history back to 1880, when the original ‘George Smart Rye’ founded the Company. Having arrived from Northampton in 1879 which was then the traditional heart of the UK shoe manufacturing industry. The Company passed through the family & still remains in the ownership of the Rye family, making its’ way through 5 generations and surviving two world wars, where staff and family members were called into serving their Country, through the years of rationing, material shortages and several economic depressions.

Dartmoor has been the best selling shoe in the Grisport range for over 10 years and is a huge Grisport favourite This shoe has also won the coveted ‘Best Value for Money Award’ for a walking shoe by the consumer bible ‘Which?’ magazine. Almost every wearer comes back for this model when they manage to wear out their existing pair – which is no mean feat!
The Argon is brand new to the range with a lowland trekking design this is light weight which makes an ideal shoe for low land walking adventures. With a Spotex lining designed to let perspiration escape this keeps the foot warm and dry allowing your foot to breath during movement therefore provides more comfort. The Vibram sole is excellent for lowland trekking over various turfs.
Grisport Fuse is a lightweight, low cut walking boot with a traditional look, but is packed with modern day features and materials. The double padded ankle cuff gives great support and comfort and the Vibram sole tread is one of their best. As with all Grisport products, Fuse is made in their state of the art factory using solar power.
The Grisport Snowdon hiking boot has been designed on a wider fitting foot bed and crafted from the finest Italian leather. This boot combines great looks with an unparalleled level of comfort. The sole is constructed from triple density PU, giving the wearer comfort straight from the box with no breaking in required. The Vibram sole gives optimum grip on all terrain types. This boot is perfect for novice walkers to seasoned hikers, the padded collar will ensure this boot is comfortable all day long.
The Grisport Lady Glide boot is an amazingly lightweight boot – at only 880g per pair for size 37 – with an added padded toe-joint, padded collar, jointed padded tongue and triple density cushioned mid-sole. All of these features add to our ‘comfortable straight from the box guarantee’ – as we are confident that our boots are the most comfortable you will ever wear. In addition to the comfort, this boot also has stunning looks, with the aqua blue trim setting the boot off perfectly. The waterproof & breathable membrane ensure that ‘Lady Glide’ is a capable performer and the Vibram sole is one of our best.
